First time in three years, baby born in Stanytsya Luhanska hospital, delivery assisted by PFVMH doctor
The day before yesterday, a new little Ukrainian came into the world in the Stanytsya Luhanska Central District Hospital – the first time since summer 2014. The delivery was assisted by gynecologist Vitaliy Yaremchuk, who works in this hospital in November within the framework of the monthly mission of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital.
According to the doctor, women in labor are normally brought to deliver to Bilovodsk, 76 kilometers from Stanytsya. This time, however, the delivery was at term – the young woman entered the facility in her expulsive period.
“The delivery went smooth. A boy was born, 3.200 grams and 54 centimeters. The parents thanked,” Yaremchuk said.
One more PFVMH volunteer doctor, general practitioner Halyna Chernysh, provided psychological support to the women, who was only 17 years old. “I stood by. Just diverted her thoughts, stroked her, allowed her to curse,” Chernysh said. She also reported that the boy was named Andriy and will be baptized Dmytro.
